SHOULD OLAMIDE BOW OUT OF THE MUSIC SCENE IN 2020?
2020 has few days remaining, and very little is heard about the famous Nigerian musician Olamide Adedeji popularly called Olamide Badoo. As the year comes to an end, it seems like his musical career would end with 2019.
He is a good artist, one that upcoming stars look up to, but judging by recent happenings, he is gradually losing his status as an A-list artiste. No doubts, he has helped mentor many upcoming acts until they have a solid foundation in the music industry.
He came into limelight with his hit single 'Eni Duro,' and since then, he has been one of Nigeria's favourite in terms of street music. Alon the line, he was named Young Erikina, and soon, he became a household name in Nigeria and beyond.
Artistes like Adekunle Gold, Chinko Ekun, Lil Kesh, Princess Lyta, Fireboy, and lots more are products of Olamide's mentorship and promotion. To that extent, he has done a lot for upcoming acts in the music industry.
So far, 2019 is his worse year, and not much has been heard about him in terms of releasing new songs. His competition strength has dropped significantly, and his recent singles did not make as much noise as it used to in previous years.
In every sphere of life, creativity is essential if one must be relevant for a long time. I guess creativity is missing in Olamide's camp, which is why he has failed to raise his head above the dust in 2019. Maybe he is planning a grand comeback in 2020 to shock his fans.
