MOMPHA, NIGERIAN SOCIAL MEDIA BIG BOY FREED BY THE EFCC
Nigerian social media big boy Ismaila Mustapha popularly known as Mompha, has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC after his bail conditions were met.
The Federal High court in Lagos granted him bail to a tune of 100 million naira after being charged on a 14-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of 33 billion naira.
Mompha is back on social media and is having a good time already. He would continue from where he stopped. A video posted on social media showed the big boy celebrating his freedom with his family and friends. He danced to Naira Marley's 'Am I a Yahoo boy' and answered 'nooo' in a funny manner.
Mompha is known for flaunting his wealth and luxury goods on Instagram. He was arrested in October by the EFCC, and this move got many Nigerians talking.
It is safe to say that he has regained his freedom as he may not be going back to the EFCC custody. With the way issues like this turn out in Nigeria, we can say that the EFCC has had their own share of the national cake and would never open his file again except of course they need more money.
In Nigeria, more often than not, freedom is given to the highest bidder. Those that cannot afford bail fees rot in jail for many years without trial.
