A simple trick to feel less sad!
Is this possible to mentally change the form of emotion? Is this okay to force ourselves feel good? These are some common questions we all have to go through. There's no concrete answer to all of these but we can take the 'maybe' answers to treat our sad feeling and emotions for sure.
When we feel sad, the first thing we usually do is to looking for a solution to make ourselves feel better. But there are some recent researches shows that we should embrace our every emotion.
It's not necessary to make us feel good in every situation rather we should let other emotions work on us. Time will make us find a way out to feel better. Focusing on how to save us from bad feelings is not a good idea. We are human being and we must experience every feeling.
We should practice shifting our focus for a certain time, from us to anything else when we feel sad. It's not like hiding or not approving our sadness.
It's to shift or lift our emotional status so that we can feel better in the long run. Only thinking about sadness and our emotion makes us feel worse. So, we can think about something else; like what if another person has to go through what we are feeling now, how they will react.
Or what we will react on this same situation five or ten years earlier. This type of tricks helps the brain to think about something else, let it be busy. And this will help us to come back to our own emotions gracefully. And I believe by this, we can help ourselves to handle our emotions better later.
As I have said earlier, hiding our emotions or not approving we are sad is never the solution. But we can use this simple trick to shift our focus a little bit so that later we can manage our emotions better. I hope it helps a little bit!
