Yes! It was a semi final match of the Atlanta '96.
Prior to the kick off, the Samba boys of Brazil are the favourite to win the match for two major reasons. 1. Because of the star players they parade. The likes of Bebeto, Ronaldo Nassario Delima a.k.a the Phenomena, and in between the post is Dida. 2. Because it was the only missing trophy in their cabinet.
Everything was set and both teams were marching into the field of play. Thousands of spectators were in the stand with a lot of anxiety. They have both set and the referee at the center stage. Poo, the whistle is blown and the match kicked off.
This scenario is replicant of the game of life. In the game of life this world is the field of play, the spectators are the world and God Almighty is the referee. The teams involve is individual versus his or her life time.
Also in this game, there are rules. You have to play according to the instructions of the Referee. No more, no less.
When the kick off whistle is blown. The race start and everyone is struggling to win the game of his or her life. Like the Brazil/Nigeria match some are favourite to end the game well because of their potentials, but are always been seen ended pitifully.
You may agree with me that unlike the other match where there is stipulated time frame, game of life does not have fixed time. And this is where wisdom applies. The timing could be short, very or too short, it be long or extra long depending on what the Referee wants.
For the wise who play their cards according to the Referee's rule, the end justifies the means(he that endures till the end shall be saved). Some are defiant to the rules and would not abide by it. Such people attract deserving cards.
We are born into this world for a purpose. To serve God,worship God, Honour Him and do His Will. We abide by the rules of the game when we do these things. We please God when we accept His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Failure to do these attracts first a yellow card which could be sickness, failure or anything, then a red card before the final whistle.
However, once the final whistle is blown that is the end. No remedy. For it is appointed for a man to die once after which is judgement.
It should be noted that pastors like linesmen are waving flags here and there. Yellow cards are being shown and yet people don't seem to care. There's still time now that your final whistle is not blown yet.
