SPEAK LIKE AN EXPERT! (Part 1: Commonly Mispronounced Automobile Brands)
Hello, warriors!
This is a short post but an informative one!
Even if you're just a simple homesteader, newbie blogger, or a normal human being, it is not hard for you to sound like an "expert". That "proud" feeling of hitting the word right boosts your confidence, so why not enhance it?
Below are automobile brands commonly mispronounced by many:
Audi
Audi is a famous German automobile manufacturer, but how can some of us do not even pronounce it right? Yes, really. You think you say it right? Nah, it's not O-dee. It's Aw-dee, yeah like "aww, it's so cute!"
BMW
BMW as pronounced by Americans. Well, too easy. But let's read it in a German way. ;)

Buick
It is one of the oldest automobile brands but folks can't still speak it right! I honestly first read it as Bwik, ok don't judge me. Hahaha! It's actually Byoo-wik: "byoo" like beautiful, "wik" where the "i" sounds soft like fish
Chevrolet
This brand is one of the oldest too! But wait, can you read it again? Nuh, it's Shev-ruh-lai. "Shev" with soft "e" vowel. "Ruh" like LadyGaga's Bad Romance:ruh ruh ruh uh uh and the syllable "Lai" is like the word lie. Simple!
Lancia
I do not know this brand of car but for everyone's information, if you're not an Italian you would probably say this word incorrectly too. Guys, say with me. Lan-cha. "La" for "lan", "Cha" where "ch" sounds like "ch" in check.
Peugeot
So, this is hard. Why French words are so hard?!! Yes I used to read it as "Pyo-jey". Ok fine, laugh your soul out genius! But today I learned that it's actually pu-jsho or pu-zho. Where "pu" sounds like "pu" in police and with an abrupt annotation in it.

Plymouth
Hahaha! Let me burst to laughter first before you do. It's not "ply" like plywood and definitely not mouth as in the "mouth and the lips". Ok. Say with me. It's "pli" like plead with an abrupt annotation then "muth". Pli-muth. Yes, pli-muth. Very good!
Porsche
Often pronounced as Porsh or Porshee. It sounded more classy like phor-shuh. Ooh, dear. You sound splendid! Again, Phor-shuh. Clap! Clap! I'm so proud!

Renault
If you're not familiar with the brand, you might pronounce it as "Re-nolt". That's okay. Don't feel bad! I read it like that too! Now, let's learn this French together. We say: ru-noo. That's it! Too simple noo? Ru-noo
Volkswagen
This German brand is confusing. Like it's "V" sounds "F", this "people's" car or "folks" car is pronounced as Folks-va-g'n; where the "g'n" sounds like "t'n" in "mountain". So next time you see this car, you know how to say it right.
