I agree, steemit is really going to save students life. I am a student, and a cad designer, and I bid almost 6 months in freelance and upwork. Nothing gained. But, here in steemit, I have been for just a month, and I have seen the real future.
Steemit is awesome. No doubt about that, though I see it as a social media platform first, then money spinner second. Steemit can only get better with time.

Only if people buy the coin will the value be there
They will earn Steem & Steem power, and then they exchange steem to other currencies. Thats how it done.
The pay outs are small
They will rise so don't worry. Its just the beginning, its still in beta too.
