As much as one wants to stay uplifting, inspired, and positive; winter in Michigan can put a damper on mood changes. We have more dark, gloomy, cold, and dreary days than solar lights. On these kinds of days, we have no choice but to turn up the heat and the lights.

My winter energy bills are something that I am not looking forward to opening, especially the heating bill. It is always a shock to my eyes and my pocket. I have considered switching to a different provider to supply my energy needs for my home, but we are limited to only two companies, and one doesn't offer coverage for my area.

It would be a blessing to have choices as this would be such a benefit for consumers, and that no one company could monopolize the market. Private companies that provide energy deregulation for electricity and natural gas services are out there to do just that, giving consumers a cost-effective choice for their needs.

When there are more companies in competition, they have no choice but to come up with a better solution to offer their clients, and I can't wait to have the option to save on my energy bills. Right now, I will just have to clench my teeth in paying my heat bill every month.
