Some background

In Poland there are many strange legislation and rules, I'll focus on 2 here and logically compare them with a bit of satire.

National TV Subscription fee

If you have a TV or Radio receiver in Poland, you must pay to the government a yearly subscription fee. It is described as a fee to ensure quality public television channels running, but honestly it's not high quality and it's pretty much controlled by government.
To clarify, if you have a car, with Radio you must pay it as well. Even if you are watching Netflix on your TV only, you must pay this subscription, as you have equipment to watch/listen to public broadcast.

Large family bonus (500+)

500plus.PNG
The Family 500+ program, grants you 500 PLN monthly per child if you have two or more children in your family. You can spend it on anything, as it is paid in cash - a lot of big families spending this on alcohol or other stuff that is for sure no added value for your kids.

Logic

So if I must pay TV/Radio subscription fee to government because I have a TV set or Radio, even if not watching/listening to public channels - as I have equipment to do so, why I am not paid 500+ even if I have no children - I have equipment to have them ;)

What do you think about these rules? Do they make sense? How it looks like in your country?
