Travel with me - Moszna Castle, Poland! - [PL] Ciekawostki o Zamku w Mosznej!

Today I would like to share with you my journey to a beautiful castle situated in a south of Poland - Moszna Castle. At the beginning I would like to mention that Moszna in polish means scrotum. That's kind of funny name for a village, isn't it? I also would add some interesting facts from the castle's history.

Moszna is situated in Opolskie voideoship, near the Czech boarder. The construction of present castle started in the 1896, after the previous castle was destroyed by fire. The castle was owned by Franz von Tiele-Winkler. The owner was extravagant person. He wanted his castle to be marvelous and extraordinary. He couldn't decide on one style, he wanted them all. At the beggining, the center part was built. It is kept in Baroque style.

In the 1900 the the owner decide to extend the castle. The eastern neo-gothic wing and the orangery was added.

The western part of the castle is the newest one. It is built in neo-renaissance style.

The whole castle has 365 rooms and 99 turrets. The cubic capacity of castle is 65.000 m³!

The Tiele-Winkler family lived there to 1945, when they were forced to move out to Germany, as the castle was ocupied by the Red Army.

After the WWII, The castle became convalescent home. In the 1972, it became a Public Health Care Center for Theraies of Neuroses. I must admit this beautiful place can really help peace your mind.

Since 1998 the castle is opened to tourists. There is also a hotel there. Near the castle there is a beautiful park and cementery.

The view from one of the towers. There is a group of teens near the fountain, they had Harry Potter's themed holidays there. It must be such a fun to pretend that you're in Hogwart! I wish there were some camp like this when I was a teenager.

Dzisiaj chciałabym Was zabrać w podróż do zamku w Mosznej. Na pewno wiele osób słyszało o tej budowli. Miejscowość ta, oprócz śmiesznej nazwy, ma również ciekawą historię. W miejscu dzisiejszego zamku stał uprzednio inny, który uległ zniszczeniu w pożarze w 1896 roku. Ówczesny właściciel, Franz von Tiele-Winkler, był człowiekiem ekstrawaganckim. Jego ojciec, Hubert, był dorobił się majątku na kopalniach. Był on wtedy właścicelem małej wsi, która czasem się rozrastała, a w tej chwili nazywa się Katowice. Franz był człowiekiem ekstrawaganckim. Przy budowie nowego pałacu nie potrafił się zdecydować w jakim stylu ma być budynek, postanowił więc, że będzie we wszystkich naraz. W ten sposób powstał pałac z barokową częścią główną, neo-gotyckim skrzydłem wschodnim, neo-renesansowym skrzydłem zachodnim oraz oranżerią. W ten sposób zamek upodobnił się nieco do bajkowego zamku w Neuschwanstein.
Zamek jest imponujacych rozmiarów, posiada 365 pokoi, 99 wież oraz łączną objętość 65.000 m³. Wokół zamku rozlega się 200-hektarowy park. Rodzina von Tiele-Winkler mieszkała tutaj aż do końca wojny, kiedy to zmuszona została uciekać przed Armią Czerwoną. Po wojnie zamek został domem opieki, od 1972 był ośrodkiem leczenia chorób psychicznych. Od kliku lat zamek udostępniony est do zwiedzania turystom.
Na zdjęciu nieopodal fontanny widoczna jest grupka nastolatków, którzy byli w tym czasie na koloniach. Motyw przewodni - Harry Potter. Strasznie żałuję, że gdy byłam młodsza nie było takich rzeczy!
