The city in which I live now. (Silicon Valley of the South of Russia)
Continuing to master the blog on Steemit I want to tell you about the city in which I live.
In 2013, when I was 17 years old, fate brought me to a city called Taganrog.

It is a city rich in history.
Taganrog is the first city founded by Peter I - beta version of St. Petersburg.
Here was born and lived a famous Russian writer Anton Chekhov and one of the greatest Soviet actresses Faina Ranevskaya.
But I moved to Taganrog not in order to study history
I moved to this city to study computer science and radio engineering.
In the photo you see the place from which everything started - Southern Federal University (ex Taganrog Radio Engineering University, founded in 1951 by the decree of Stalin).
It was founded to supply the Taganrog factories with engineers. As a result, many IT companies have come to Taganrog, which take young engineers into their ranks. The most enterprising graduates founded their companies.
Dmitry Dumik is one of the graduates of the Taganrog Radio Engineering University. His project "Chatfuel" was supported by Y Combinator, 500 Startups and The Knight Foundation.

For this reason, despite the fact that Taganrog is a small city by Russian standards (it has 300,000 inhabitants), it hosts many events in the IT sector of the all-Russian level.
So in 2016 in Taganrog, the All-Russian Engineering Festival was held. In Taganrog, there are regularly held meetups, conferences, competitions and hakatons for students and IT geeks.
This weekend, the University will host "Open Hackathon Cyber Garden", a programming marathon aimed at creating open-data applications / services for 48 hours.

I want to hear the thoughts of foreign IT enthusiasts - If you participated in this hackatoon, what project on open data would you do?
Thank you for attention!
I want to attach to this story several photos ans videos of Taganrog.
