Legal 21, another checkpoint.

Time flies fast, I’ve turned 21 this year. I couldn’t believe that I’m now a legal adult who can choose to make decision on my own.

A very heartfelt birthday this year,

On 24th March, my sister and her boyfriend brought me to Genting for a day-trip. It has been about 9 years ago since the last time I stepped my feet at Genting. Well, Genting changed a lot. Of course, it became well-developed with many fancy restaurants and expanding on it’s facilities. Except for the outdoor theme park which yet to be done soon.

Up there, the first attraction that managed to catch my eyes is the lighting stage. It was somewhat an art, which the lights will have a short performance alongside with shows. Another attraction is what Chinese people loved the most, CASINO. I don’t really understand as majority Chinese likes to bet, especially it’s somewhat a culture that carried along in them. Like how they will bet and play with cards during every CNY.

Another memorable thing we did was going into the indoor haunted house. HAHA! I always love the fright, scare and fun of it. However, the experience was okay only, not as much jump scares compare to Sunway Lagoon. Moreover, children below 12 years old are actually allowed to enter this haunted house. :O

It was just a day time spent up there in Genting. At night, my sis and her boyfriend brought me to try “Three little pigs and big bad wolf” at Tropicana City Mall. It’s famous and popular with its pork dishes.

The next day (25th march), I happened to have a dental appointment for my root canal treatment (2nd meet up). Just when I got home, I entered into my room wanting to get my low battery phone charged, I was shocked to see my room was being decorated. I was stunned and speechless for one second, and I found out there’s live video recording there. I burst into laughter and so much joy in me (still in shocked). Few seconds after that, my course-mates all crashed into my house, and into my room. I was filled with so much joy & surprised that I was lost of words and being a bit unconscious because the moment was so surreal to me.

After then, they prepared a mini-game session for me, it was a “popping balloons” game. One of my least-like game because I don’t like the bursting sound as it always scare me away. They made video recording of my funny face reactions when I popped those balloons. Finally, I got some short notes inside the balloons and actually lead to the “secret” place where they hide my gift 😊

When I opened the wardrobe, there found a ukulele box, I was surprised and shocked with the second time. I kept asking that if they really bought ukulele for me and I was concerned because of the money they had to chipped in. Truth to be told, it was a freaking UKULELE. I seriously wanted to buy an ukulele as I’m saving up money for it. Who knows this has been fulfilled by my course-mates as a birthday gift for me. Couldn’t be more blessed by them. I’m really touched to receive such a splendid gift.

I went to dress up and we took many nice photos together. I felt so so happy and touched because I’ve always wanted a birthday surprise party (HAHA, sorry for still being so typical and picky). It is my 21st birthday this year too and I swear I had the most and best birthday ever. It’s more than the surprise, gift that melted my heart. It was the effort behind, it blew away my mind to know that my course-mates actually travel down all the way from Nilai, some from Puchong or Klang to Subang and made this surprise party a success. That extra miles they willingly gave really taught me to be more generous and grateful.

For dinner, we went “After black” at Bandar Sunway. It was a very fancy nice black in colour design café. They had great menu and it’s delicious for their main-course. I ate baked cheese rice with chicken. It did not just satisfy my mouth-cravings but also my stomach was fully filled. The café is high-selling and a lot customer, you’ll need booking of seats in advance if you’re going in a group of friends. Booking through email for big group whereas few people you can book through phone calls.

Apart from that, I actually received a lot of text, video messages from my friends. My social media inbox were flooded with wishes too. I felt so blessed and so loved by so many friends & family members.

I can't believe myself has turned 21. It's definitely another checkpoint in life 🏁. I always thought once you hit 21, you are given much freedom to do whatever things you like and free to make decisions. However, when much is given, much is required too. I faced struggles, challenges and setbacks, I've made countless mistakes, regrets in life. Given up on certain things which could be a success. Of course, there's ups too !! Through these, I've learned to grow up and being a little more mature every time.

It's important to know how to take full responsibility for your own life in every choices you make.
