RODO in reality

Many of you knows what RODO is. For those who do not know:
RODO - new regulations imposed by the European Union, related to personal data protection.

A few days ago in Poland there was a road accident in which 42 children suffered.

The child was taken to the hospital.Jittery parrents tried to find out in which hospital is their kid.
Unfortunately. They found the wall. The hospital refused to answer, citing ... RODO.
They have spent few hours with their mobile phone before they get this information.

How is in other countries where RODO was introduced?
