What is Purpose?

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Let's face it, life can get pretty crazy sometimes. We place a sense of security on our rituals and it gives us a sense of comfort. So when things don't go according to plan, many of us become lost. The purpose we've defined for our lives becomes a little less clear. For some people, it might even feel like the end of the world.

I get it. You should be in control of your life, but are you really meant to control everything?
Is it right to force relationships?
Career paths?
Toxic friendships?

In my honest opinion, NO.

I can't tell you how many times I have gone out of the way, overcame obstacle after obstacle, pursuing something that was not beneficial to my life...only to fall flat on my face.

Only to have a lighter bank account just to get blackout drunk. Burned a bridge because I failed to keep my word. Lost my job because I was late too many times.

I love the phrase "life is what you make it" because it's so true. Life consists of thousands of daily micro decisions, that lead up to major decisions...on a daily basis. Those decisions determine your days, which determine your weeks, months, years, and eventually your entire life.

Where we are in our lives today is a direct result of all conscious and unconscious decisions we've made to this very day.

For many of us, including myself, pride has played a major role in hindering progress. The refusal to acknowledge or address toxic elements in our life has stunted our growth. Set us back from experiencing life the way it should be lived.

I refuse to live like that anymore and sincerely hope you all feel the same.

Cheers to self discovery, growth, and a more positive perspective of life.

Not just for 2018, but for the rest of our days.

-Vlad!
