Physical and mental action
Above we said that any action is an act of psychophysical. To divide it into components, physical and mental, is incorrect, and this is done only for the purpose of detailing understanding. So, physical action leads to changes in the material world around us. On its fulfillment, physical (muscular) energy is expended. This type of action includes: physical work (digging, mowing, sawing); Sports activities (row, swim, play with the ball); household operations (dressing, laying on the table, brewing tea); actions in relation to another person (hug, kiss, fight). The importance of physical action in the actor's work, exercises for the development of this skill, can be read in the articles devoted to the stage movement and the feeling of truth.
Mental actions are characterized by directed influence on the psyche (feelings, consciousness, will) as another person, and their own. Already from this definition it is clear that mental actions in the profession of an actor are one of the main categories, because a role is realized through it. They are also diverse - request, joke, reproach, warning, conviction, confession, praise, quarrel - this is just a short list of examples.
Mental actions, depending on the means of realization, are verbal and mimic. They are equally used in different situations. For example, a person disappointed you. You can reprimand him, but you can - look with reproach and shake your head, without uttering a word. The difference is that facial expressions are more poetic, but not always understandable from the side, the word is more expressive.
As it was said above, physical action is impossible without mental, exactly, as well as vice versa. In order to comfort a person, to express his support, you must first come to him, put your hand on your shoulder, hug. Mental action in this case leaves an imprint on the performance of the physical. After all, no one will run, hopping, to a man, to console him in grief.
