Are you a bully?

Are you a bully?

Am I insulting you if I ask you if you are one?
I always wonder how come so many people, world wide are bullied, but nobody seems to be the bully.

If it comes to bullying there is no real definition for it,

but we all will degree that it has to do with:

  • aggressive behaviour
  • hostility
  • imbalance of power and
  • repetition over a longer period.
The intention is also to hurt someone, one way or the other!
This hurting can be: physically, mentally or emotionally. Studies have also shown that envy and resentment may be motives for bullying as well. It is also possible the bully has a brain abnormality.

Bullying ranges from:

  • one-on-one,
  • individual bullying through to group bullying. This is called mobbing (in which the bully may have one or more helpers willing (even eager) to assist the bully).

Bullying happens everywhere.

At schools, in the neighbourhood, at the working place and even in families and religious communities. Unless action is taken, a culture of bullying is often perpetuated within a group for months, years, or longer.

Is it possible to recognize a bully?

If a bully is able to pick out his/her victim, it is also possible to recognize a bully!
According to studies a bully:

  • is likely to be aggressive,
  • has a lack of social skills,
  • thinks negative,
  • experiences difficulties in solving social problems,
  • comes from a negative family, school and community environments and is
  • noticeably rejected.

If it comes to monkeys (chimpanzees), they are bullying as well.

Mainly the young ones are the bullies and the adults are the victims! Young monkeys never bully other "kids". This is an interesting fact. Also interesting is that the adults do not accept this kind of behaviour. So the bully is punished by an adult!

Monkeys live in large families. All ages together.

People do not live that way any longer. Children for example do spend many hours today at school. Forced to stay with children of their own age. No adult is correcting the bullies any longer, which means the bully will continue his/her behaviour.

Yes definitely

Hi! I'm a bot, and this answer was posted automatically. Check this post out for more information.

I have been bullied for years. From age 6 or 7 until I was 15 years old, by the same person. I think when I get him in front of my car, I won't hit the breaks!

Sounds familiar
