How Norway do festivals

in #life8 years ago (edited)

Most people have been to some sort of music festival throughout their lives, and maybe even camped at one. You come to the festival set up your tent with some friends and you can start to consume alcohol! It's easy to get there and there are smud areas to put down your tent so you can have a good nights sleep. I'm thinking about festivals like Coachella, Wacken, Electricforest, Sasquatch festival. Some of the more famous ones.

So back to why i'm writing this. In Norway we love to hike, love to be in the mountains, we have the saying that Norwegians are born with skis on their feet!. We are nature people and have a lot of beautiful nature with fjords and big mountainpasses.

So when Norwegians decide to make a festival, we create a festival far up in the mountain called Vinjerock. Here we sell tickets to about 3000 people and everybody have to camp on complicated rough mountain ground. Pictures below. We have sporty activities throughout the day, some even join hiking trips lasting about 11 hours. It's quite the blast, but as you can see, Norwegian festivals are quite different!

You should come visit Norway and join us on some of our more spectacular festivals, like Vinjerock, Træna music festival(sorry that they dont have https), Midnight Sun Festival.

That looks epic, we have a festival in South Africa called OppiKoppi - An incredible experience in the bush.

Wow cool! Il check it out because we are a group of friends doing a "strange" festival each year!

That's nice considering in my country, i heard people camp for iPhone. :-)

I dont understand what you are trying to say :P?

I mean that way you guys spend time outside your homes - I find it better than us. We have people queuing some nights just so they can the new iPhone on launch date.
