Going polyphasic sleep

Three days ago I left my job at Applied Blockchain and I promised to give myself two months in order to work full time on my personal projects and my presence online. So far so good, but I realised I sleep too much without being productive.

It has been a while that I wanted to switch to a polyphasic sleep but couldn't really make it because of my the normal 8 hours working hours. But now that I quit my job I can freely experiment.
It is fair to say that sleep goes along nutrition so I combine my polyphasic sleep with a nutrition low in carbohydrates in all its forms (slow or fast). Also it is fair to say that this way of living is not for everyone, you have to be pretty independent in the way you can spend your time. The best way is to try it personally and see if you get some results. Oversleeping and failing to wake up when the alarms rings is a common thing so you'd better put all the chances your side. Eat lowcarb food, fasting is preferred and do some sport.

The particular sleep pattern I have adopted is called the Everyman. However I recommend beginning by a 5 hours sleep night and a 20 min nap in the middle of the day.
But this is everyman, at least the most extreme version (you can get more than 1h30 of sleep at "night")

It helps me to wake up and to keep track when i should sleep and how much, very handy and totally worth the 1$ I paid to get the premium version.

Don't get me wrong I like sleeping, If you let me sleep I will sleep for 12 hours in a row.
So why the heck do I do polyphasic sleep? Well the main motivation is time, the other is that I am very extreme in the way I live. Sometimes I came at work at 5am, sometimes at 11...I always had messed up sleep cycles. It often happens that I get excited by something and spend the whole night programming or researching that thing.

But the main reason why I am doing this is productivity. I am a programmer so this really helps. When programming you can be quickly overloaded by the amount of new material you learn, you have to go through a lot of documentation and since the brain buffer gets filled quickly it really helps to do the 20minutes nap session. You are very tired when comes the time of the nap. So that means that you can fall asleep pretty instantaneously, sometimes you aren't even sleeping, you are like passing/conking out. Your body quickly jumps the two sleep phases and goes into REM sleep. REM sleep session are known to last about 15 minutes, this is when you dream! So as a matter of fact I dream 4 times a day and I clean my memory buffer 4 times a day, great...just great! I can become the next Elon Musk now.

I will now quite often use steemit as my personal blogging platform. Since I quit my job I allocated two months of entrepreneurship and learning. In the coming months I want to launch a lot of projects. Some of them will be related to steem but some of them won't. My second focus is Machine Learning and AI. Last but not least I will greatly improve my online presence in the Blockchain education field. Lot's of exciting stuff to come.
