The best place in the world to retire

In the year 2017 the Algarve was voted the best beach destination in Europe by the World Travel Awards (the Oscars of Tourism). But something that this year impacted the lives of many people looking for a place to enjoy the last years of their lives, was to know that this beautiful region of Portugal was also considered by many as the best place in the world to live the retirement, the region is rising not only among the Portuguese but for the tourism industry across Europe.

Well known for its beautiful beaches, the Algarve is the tourist destination of about 30% of the Portuguese, and most of the European tourists are just the beaches that make this place so special.

The service provided by the region's hotel chains also contributed excellence to the result of this election, receiving 11 awards, such as Best Beach Resort for the Quinta do Lago Hotel and Best Family Resort for the Pine Cliffs Resort.

The climate is perhaps one of the most pleasant in the world, with all 4 seasons well defined, and a stunning summer. In addition, there is an incredible sense of security throughout the Algarve, given the extremely low crime rate, which makes it even more interesting, both to raise children and to enjoy the last years of life. The natural beauty and high quality of life, food, are other factors that make the Algarve region sometimes elected as the best place in the world to live the retirement.

From the financial point of view, we find a quality health system, and the low taxes that Portugal provides for retirees, which is why there are more than 100,000 retirees living there.
