Instagram Influencers, Elon Musk, and Netflix
1. Instagram’s Wannabe-Stars Are Driving Luxury Hotels Crazy (The Atlantic)
Don't call yourself an influencer...ever. What do they even do at these hotels? Take pictures and make it seem like they have fun lives?
"Under the proposal, passengers would be able to travel from the Loop to O’Hare in just 12 minutes at an estimated cost of $20 to $25 per ride."
"The economic feasibility of Boring’s project relies on Musk’s confidence that it can build tunnels at least 14 times faster than previous efforts, which a company official acknowledged the company must still prove."
I love the futuristic looking images.
3. Inside the Binge Factory (Vulture)
"'It’s 70 percent gut and 30 percent data,' Sarandos says." "Netflix doesn’t waste millions making pilot episodes of shows that will never air; instead, almost every project it buys is purchased with the intention of going straight to series."
Netflix apparently had a reach of 300 million people, and some shows have been viewed by 40-50 million.
They plan to spend 8 billion dollar on content this year.
