Thieves stole my airbags... AGAIN.
In February 2016 thieves stole all the airbags located in the dashboard. I wrote about it in this post sometime last year. At that time my car was almost brand new, I had gotten it in August.
This is how I found my car in February 2016 and as you can see they took the airbag from the steering wheel and the dashboard on the passengers side:
Thieves got at it... AGAIN.
A few weeks ago I was ready to go to work and as I walked over to my car I had no clue that thieves had done it again. I opened the trunk, laid my backpack in it, closed the trunk and walked over the drivers side. It was at that point that I noticed some glas on the ground... I looked up and I saw that this time they actually broke the window to get into the car.
Of course they found a way to make sure that the car alarm did not go off so they got to work without anyone noticing. I looked inside and I noticed that my airbags were missing AGAIN.
As you can read in the post that I wrote last year, those thieves didn't actually damage anything in order to take the airbags. These thieves however broke the window and damaged quite a lot in the process. As you can in the picture below they seem to have ripped off a lot that is supposed to be there below the steering wheel and as I found out later they also took the "start engine" button with its belongings.
Since this happened a few weeks ago I already got everything fixed so I'm driving around safely again, but it sure is a huge hassle that has taken me quite some time in order to get the car picked up, fixed, etc. Hopefully this will NOT happen again anymore...
As for the airbags... I heard from people in the know that they go for about €1500 on the black market.
