Flip-flops everywhere, or how I've spend my extended weekend
Hello Steemers!
Wanted to say hello and share my experience as part of my #lifeofanurbanplanner extended weekend!
1st of December was National Day here in Romania, which is a free national day, so I was lucky enough to have an extended weekend, since 1st was on Thursday and Friday was the bonus :D. And for the ones who are not familiar with our history, this year we celebrate 100 years since the great Union which took place in 1918, 1st of December, when Transylvania was annexed.
So, first thing to do when outside is cold and you have free extra days??! Go to the swimming pool...and not just an ordinary swimming pool.
I went to Therme Bucharest (https://therme.ro), a great place to go even if you are just visiting Bucharest. It is a green oasis with different areas for everyone's taste. You can go to the Galaxy area, which is basically an indoor waterpark, or go to the Palm or Elysium, if you just want to relax. I went to The Palm, cause I really needed some chill moments only for myself.
The pool is larger, it goes outside too, and you can also have a drink in the waterbar. Cool, right?
This is how the entrance looks like:
The good part?! Even if it is a bit far from the city, there is a free bus that takes you directly to Therme from the city centre (Romana Square), and back.
The funny part?! It was suuuuuperrr crowded :)) There were flip-flops everywhere and you would stumble upon them at every pace. I guess everyone needed some time for themselves :)).
Well, the next day I decided to go bowling with my friends and it was better. Not very crowded, but I didn't win. I guess I should stick to urban planning rather than playing bowling...I am better at my job :))
However, I had to get my energy from something (since I lost it while playing :)), so I did myself a natural vegetables juice (beetroot, cabbage and ginger - quite a good combo). What I wanted to share with you was what I did afterwards with the pulp (since they say that the pulp is the healthiest part for our bodies). I tried to do some veggieballs for the first time. You basically combine the pulp with flour, eggs and breadcrumbs, then you fry them in oil and that's it.
Here there are, super pinkinsh veggieballs :)) They look nice and they taste...not so nice?! It might work for vegetarians though. To be honest, I don't like it :)). The recipe is good, my friends liked it, but I am not very much of a fan. Maybe you know some other recipes which are tastier?! Help me! I really don't want to throw the juice pulp :))
The last thing I wanted to share with you...which is the best part of this weekend, is a cool book that I bought!!!! It is entirely reproduced in facsimile, and contains all the details from the construction of Eiffel Tower. It is edited by Taschen, in case you are interested in it! I'll upload some pics I did to see how marvellous this book is!
There you go, the super Eiffel Tower and the wonderful details!
