Put Some Style On Your Walls
3 Dimensional Wall Panels
The unique wall designs and textures that fill some of the most prestigious hotels, restaurants, and executive building lobbies are also available for your home. There are endless patterns, textures, and materials to choose from but almost all are very easy to work with as well as to apply to a surface.
Ideas for 3D Wall Panels
There are various applications for wall panels and the uses with textured walls are endless. Use 3D wall panels as a backdrop behind a TV.
Bedroom headboard.
Even a narrow floor to ceiling 3D panel can be used to add style to a large blank wall.
Add some directional lighting, spot lighting, or LED strip lighting to make a one of a kind space. The image below I used colored LED low voltage light strips that surround the wall panel frame. The light strip is powered by a wall outlet that has a wall switch. The LED light strip is remote controlled so that it can be lit automatically or can be adjusted with the remote. Additionally, the colors can be changed or lighting patterns can set to gradually transition between colors or simply remain static on a particular color. The LED light strip is low voltage so an electrician is not necessary. The strips can be cut to length and additional parts can be purchased for easy splicing. For example, if you would like to add additional strips, or simple made a mistake and the strip was cut too short (not saying that it had happened to me).
Sounds expensive right? I purchased the light strip for $24.99 and it was delivered in 2 days. I purchased various wall panels but most average between $80 - $130 for a 4' foot x 8' foot sheet. Depending on which type is purchased they can arrive in 2' foot by 2' foot lock together panels or in full 4' foot by 8' foot panels rolled up in a large box. The large wall panels in a box could take a week or so to arrive so plan ahead if these are your choice. The panels can be painted or some can even be ordered in specific colors. The wall panels application on a project difficulty scale of 1 - 5, I would say is a 3. The project could become more complex if you add raised paneling for back lighting, spot lighting, wood framing, or if the wall panels require cutting to fit certain odd shaped wall areas.
I hope this helps to inspire some creative wall styling in your home. The 3d wall is impressive and with lighting it will really create a unique feel that can make your space one of a kind.
