"The Patience that Love Demands" -- Thoughts from one of my favorite movies!

The Vow is one of my favorite movies! When I saw the very first trailer for this movie I knew I was going to end up watching it a gazillion times. When it came out in theaters I asked @rigaronib to take me to see it (he hated it, by the way). And when it came out on DVD, @gringalicious bought it for me! I also downloaded the soundtrack and the movie on iTunes.

Paige : "I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness, and to have the patience that love demands. To speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they are not , to agree to disagree on red velvet cake, and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home."

These vows are ridiculously sweet. I was 18 when I got married, and we eloped, so we didn't have long vows that we spoke to each other like this, but these vows are true for us. rigaronib may hate the movie, but he can't deny that these are beautiful words to say to your spouse!

I want to live within the warmth of my husband's heart forever; it is home to me!

Leo : "I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms, now and forever. I promise to never forget that this is a once in a lifetime love. And to always know in the deepest part of my soul that no matter what challenges might carry us apart, we will always find our way back to each other."

These words come to me all the time. When I am starting to be impatient I think, "I vow to have the patience that love demands." Because patience is vital to any relationship; it's vital to love.

"I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms." This line is so important in any relationship because we all have moods, we all age, we all have changing bodies. To accept that you love a person for their soul and are willing to love every shade of them is amazing.

"Whatever challenges may carry us apart, we'll always find our way back to each other." Even if challenges don't carry you away from each other in the physical sense, they can definitely carry you apart mentally. When I am stressed out and spacey, and hard to reach, it's amazing that I am still loved and that we return to each other despite the stress.

The movie has a lot of sadness (I won't give any spoilers if you haven't see it), but it has a great ending and it's full of hope! The tagline is basically "we'll always find our way back to each other." That has to be true in any relationship because it's not always going to be sunshine and rainbows. Relationships can be really hard and you have to be willing to fight for them!

I am thankful that I am fiercely loved!

You just wrote a whole heap of truths! I've been married for 35 years, and can assure you that loving a man in all his forms is a big challenge sometimes. I don't think I've seen this movie, but I'd like to.

It is a challenge, but it's so worth it! :) You should definitely watch this movie. :)

Very interesting, I think I'll have to watch that movie.
But to me, there is nothing as dangerous as living a lonely life void of love.
It's just like skiing on a steep rock, it is so dry and rough although you may be moving.

Worst. Movie. Ever.

I'm not upvoting this comment. ;)

Loviing is beautiful but very challenging because it's not all so rosy...thank you for sharing,ma'am.
