Curbing Failure against all odds
I decided to write something different from the area I specialize in.A story that depicts a lot, sets out to teach and of course entertain. Some of you might be wondering what failure is.It's simple.Failure is the absence of success in doing or achieving something, especially in relation to a particular activity.Everyday we are surrounded by situations that prompt us to either succeed or fail in doing that. It's natural and very real at that.A lot of successful people have stories to tell because the going became really tough and the only thing that distinguished them from us was the ability to manage that failure.I will play out a scenario of a boy who thought he was cursed to fail but at the end succeeded in his doings prolly because he didn't let failure define him.
A REVIEW ABOUT THE BOY
His name is Tobi,18 years of age,African.Tobi has been associated with failure since infancy. It's like failure was his middle name.Tobi failed his first school leaving certificate, failed his secondary school examinations, failed his final year examinations. His failure didn't just stop in school,it superseded to other areas.
Constantly his father has been having, complaining, rebuking him for being a failure.Could you blame the poor boy?.He always tried his best but ended up failing. His mother on the otherhand was supportive and always encouraging him to strive even harder.
"Oh God,why is this happening to me?,help my life, helpy situation",Tobi frequently said.It was a new academic year and a lot of students marched into into school with their sparkling white uniforms.Tobi has repeated his previous class so he improve to graduate from the school. He decided to keep his distance from his so-called friends who already nicknamed him TOBI THE FAILURE.
Subsequently Tobi met Peter,a brilliant boy who happened to understand Tobi more than any other person. The two became very close friends always looking out for each other, always doing academic work and always defending each other and a host of other things two close friends do.
With time,Tobi started improving, started ekeing out good grades and started becoming the best in a lot of areas in fact his success rate was double of what he anticipated. At the age of 25 years,Tobi already had a mansion of his own, luxurious cars and a company by his name TOBI.What more could he ask for. It's like the world was at his feet.He bought his friend Peter an estate,a private jet and a University.Tobi suffered but the thing that kept him moving was his not allowing failure define who he was.
MORAL LESSON
Tobi's story teaches that failure is one of the hurdles that determine success. It doesn't determine the end but it's a process and if successfully scaled through, that person will reap bountifully. What one was yesterday may not necessary determine what one may be tomorrow.
THE WAY FORWARD
To the World at large, failure or failing to do one thing or the other is natural because no one is perfect. We may think our condition is the worse but it isn't. A successful man once said when something bad happens to you,it sets out directly on that road to something good.Successful people are distinct from us because they accept and curb failure, they keep pushing and moving. So following that footstep is what we all should do.We try,we fail,we try again and most importantly we rise again and try to succeed. That constitutes the burden of these discourse. Thanks for reading and don't forget to follow me up @ubongbassey.
