FAILURE + EXCUSES ≠ SUCCESS

Hello steemians welcome to my blog.

My last post explained vividly how adopting bitcoin as payment solution would improve our business and transactions. Click here

I found this topic relevant because over the years there's been an alarming rate at which people give excuses for not doing things right:

  • The government blames the constitution for the hardship and economic mess of it's citizens,

  • Some steemians attributes their failure to low upvotes or inadequate support from whales,

  • Students resolve to average grades in a particular course claiming it's difficult to get an "A".

  • Business men often accord their failure to the laughable excuse of neighbouring competition,

  • I've also seen leaders and top executives of organisations who exiled themselves amidst anarchy and doom.

There are a lot of broken marriages and irresponsible couples that are victims of addictions to excuses and blames. Some couple would rather break up their union than to accept blames and render sober apology.

Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

A biblical reference can be found in the book of Mt 25: 24-25 above. The lazy servant gave irrational excuses for not doubling his talents. But does the blames and "accusing fingers" makes him right?

The fact that we can give million reasons for our failure doesn't equate it with success. FAILURE plus EXCUSES can never be equal to SUCCESS. That the other servants thrived under similar condition has made the lazy servant's excuse baseless.

Would he (the lazy servant) have performed better if he was given more? Would others fail if they were given less? Would he not have made complaints regardless of the terms and conditions?

Many of us like this lazy servant are renowned excuse givers. We blame virtually every body for every disappointment and discomfort we encounter. And at the end we are still merry-go-rounding while our conditions remain ever stagnant. We forgot to realize that under same conditions, others are making it. It's high time we sit tight and employ a positive attitude towards our failure.

Excuses change nothing, but make everyone feel better....

THE WAY FORWARD?

Firstly we need to acknowledge our failure.

Our life doesn't end because we failed. Infact, failure is part of, or a prerequisite to success. The ability to move on after we fail would endorse our success if we put all other factors in check.

We must constantly remind ourselves of our responsibilities towards our future. And because life only gives us what we bargain and not all we need, we must strive to make something great out of life.

Who are the successful people around us? How is their life like? What do they do frequently? Who are their friends? Where do we usually find them? These basic questions would accelerate our decision to succeed. Emulating the lifestyle of the successful inspires us to be like them and in turn shape our thoughts.

It is equally important we work on ourselves. We must find time to meditate, exercise, read and constantly seek lasting solutions to improve the core areas for our lives.

We can also take quality time to learn the trade or endeavor we are into. Learning and training develops our expertise and gives us fulfilment in our chosen field.

The importance of hard work and consistency can not be over ruled. We must always put our "whole" in the things we do without relenting. Most successful people do this. They do not deviate or diversify when the going gets tough; instead they show restraint and restlessness till the storm comes to an end. Even if they fail at some point, they would gather more knowledge and experience through their failure and make sure it is done better next time.

They would repeat the process again and again to produce success more and more. We should manage to be consistent in what we do. People should be able to know us for a particular trade. Christiano Ronaldo is known for great football, Serena Williams for tennis and @surpassinggoogle for steeming. In the same vein, we must work hard and be consistent with what we do.

IN CONCLUSION

If we want to be the best, then we must be ready to beat the best

The world does not associate with failure. No matter how quality the content is, nobody is ready to read the book titled: "Why I failed in life". Everyone would beg to relate with us if we have something great to offer.

It is imperative to work hard at what we do and learn from the best. Blaming others for our failed life only brings about complications. We must be ready to embrace and accept our wrong doings; that way, our mind would be opened to learn new tricks and in turn attain success.

Once your excuses are gone, you will simply have to settle for being awesome!...
