Yes, I think there is no chance to avoid "hard" work to earn money.

As a freelancer you probably work longer and maybe harder then a typical employee. On the other hand, you really benefit from the freedom of a freelancer. You can (at least in part) choose your customers, set your working hours freely and help clients with your expertise the way you want. There no boss and no refusal of your vacation request.
