My Review of The 5-Star Off-The-Strip Red Rock Casino & Resort in Las Vegas

I’m sure if I looked hard enough I could find a stat on what percentage of tourists actually leave the strip when they come to visit Las Vegas. 

But I’m not going to waste my time because I’m sure it’s 10% or less. 

I’m not going to lie, I was one of them until I considered moving here.  It’s a shame because this town is beautiful and has a lot more to offer than gambling and partying. 

A Little Background To My Review

I’ve only been living here about two months and I live in the Summerlin area which is north west of the strip. 

When I moved here I heard this is where most the celebrities own houses so I knew it had to be nice and it hasn’t let me down so far. 

Now I know most people don’t want to hear about anything other than the excitement and buzz that surrounds the strip, so I’m going to slowly taper you off by reviewing one of my favorite casinos, the Red Rock Casino & Resort.

Let Your Mind Wonder For A Moment

Have you ever seen the Disney movie Wall-E? 

If you haven’t, it’s basically about how the earth isn’t livable anymore because of pollution and lack of resources, and humanity made a huge space ship that is like a cruise boat.  

Everyone lives on this ship as they travel space to look for a new planet to live on. 

I only bring this up because that movie gave me the “what if’s”, and if I had to live in a giant space ship for years I’d hope it’s like the Red Rock Station Casino & Resort. 

This destination in itself has everything you could ever want in it and is way more than just your standard casino. 

Breaking Down The Obvious

Let’s get the obvious features out of the way and break down the gaming the casino has to offer. 

You are in Las Vegas after all and even though you aren’t on the strip, you still get the feel of all the casinos, but without the strip taxes (this basically means all the food is normal price and you won’t have to pay 13 dollars for a slice of pizza and a soda).

Obviously, this is a casino so they have your slot machines/table games/Poker room/sports book. 

They are very nice and if you didn’t know any better you would be convinced you are on the strip because everything in this casino is top of the line.

But What If I Was Able To Go To Only One Casino in Vegas?

But if I had to live in a space ship for a few years I’d need a whole lot more than just a casino to gamble. 

You’d get really board fast if that was all the entertainment the ship had to offer. 

Good news, there is a lot more so let’s dive in.

First is the movie theater that has an Imax included. 

It’s crazy because if you didn’t know better, you wouldn’t think you were in a casino/resort/spa at all because you feel like you are in an actual movie theater. 

Yet you must walk through the casino to get to it. 

The movie theater isn’t on the side or and outlet of Red Rock Station, it’s inside! 

This is great because you can bring your kids to the movies and maybe get something to eat in the food court because it’s right next to the movie theater. 

There is also a area for kids to be entertained and it has an arcade and a little fun zone for kids to run around. 

Maybe Give Grandparents Something To Do Also

Maybe you aren’t entertaining kids but rather grandparents, you can hit up the bingo hall after you watch a movie instead. 

The Red Rock Station has the nicest bingo hall I’ve ever seen, and it would be pretty easy to kill a few hours there by playing a little bingo.

If you have the whole family with you (your elders and kids) then there is something for the whole family to do. 

You can all go to the bowling alley that is also located in the casino. 

Just like the movie theater, the bowling alley is located inside the Red Rock station, and you I’m not talking just a few lanes like you would expect. 

This is a full-blown bowling alley as big as the ones like at Main Event and is really nice too!

A Great Resort Space Outdoors Also

One of the things Red Rock is known for is their killer pool and concerts that take place by it.

There are always different musical acts coming through, and I feel there are a good amount of country stars that swing by and play. 

Always make sure you see who’s coming in and if the names aren’t that big, the Sand Bar Pool Concert Series is worth the experience alone. 

Tons of Eating Options

If you get hungry not only is there a food court in the casino, there are a bunch of restaurants on the outskirts of the casino. 

There is also a spa so don’t worry guys, the wife can go get pampered as you hit some table games.

Why Venture To A Casino & Resort Not On The Strip?

Again, this place has it all! 

I love coming here and it’s no wonder why the locals never go to the strip unless there is a show they are attending or friends and family are in town. 

Why deal with all the tourist, traffic and parking, and extra money you have to spend on the strip when you have all of this in your own back yard. 

Not to mention this is a great place to meet other locals and is the only place I’ve met a few friends in the two months since living here. 

I highly recommend you come and check this place out. 

It also helps that it’s just a block away from downtown Summerlin which has the best shopping this town has to offer and is just beautiful.
