Why Worry When You Can Pray?
Do not read this if you do not believe in God. It simply won't help. But then again...
I wrote earlier why people should not manage or control worry but eliminate it altogether. You can read about the How To Stop Worrying & Start Living and The Four Reasons You Should Not Worry besides the fact that it sucks...literaly. Sucks the life out of you.
Allow me to be really undiplomatic and politically incorrect;
Q1: Why Would Do You Worry When You Can Pray?
When you are in prayer, there is an exchange going on. You talk with God and he talks with you. He should be able to handle whatever it is that concerns you, right? Or it's time to move to another one...seriously.
Q2: Why Would You Not Want To Give Him What Worries You?
I am convinced that, we are not designed to worry pretty much like a 10 ton truck is not designed to carry 15 tons. In spite of that, we do it all the time in my part of the world and breakdowns and accidents due to overloading are very common. Many times with fatalities that could have been avoided.
We do the same thing with worry and wonder why we are sickly, or snap at each other and stuff. We are just not designed to carry worry. Pray, give it to God. If he designed us, then he knows how to deal with it, right?
Q3: Why Would You Not Want To Focus On Productive Things?
When you worry, you put your thinking to wrong use instead of using your brain to be productive. Can you worry yourself a centimetre taller? No? Then quit it and think, instead of how you are going to earn more and pay off that debt. Worrying will demand more money which you would have used to pay of that debt. God gave you your mind for something and it is definitely not worry.
I could go on and on but if you have a God who you can pray to, my point is, he should be able to deal with worry otherwise the whole thing becomes a joke.
My opinionated article ends here...
I need to keep reminding myself of this truth. Thanks!
Love that video!
Indeed:
Matthew 6:25-34 NIV
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.“
