What children taught me about happiness

in #life7 years ago

As part of physiotherapy-school, I’m currently in an internship in a children hospital. Prior to this I was distant to children. By choice. Really distant. For me they were like small people, not fully developed yet and I just didn’t know how to interact with them. They can be loud, unreasonably emotional and sometimes they smell funny. Nonetheless I came to think that they aren’t that bad. Children are able to cast a smile on your face no matter your mood. The laughing of a child just makes you feel good. And I think we can learn a few things from them!

Children play if they want to play. And if they are playing they are just having fun. What others might think about them is not important. They see an opportunity for fun where adults are not even looking for it. Why don’t we?

Have you ever seen a line on the floor and wanted to balance on it? Did you do it? If not, why? Even if this feeling only lasted for a second, if it could make you happy it is a thought worth to pursue. If it is something this simple that could actually make you feel happy for a moment, just do it! No matter what others might be thinking! Maybe they would like to do the same…

Enjoy the moment and be happy!
