Three tribes in Vietnam has a unique home

Vietnam has a beautiful natural beauty. In the Central Highland, have three tribes that inhabited this region, namely Ede, Bahnar and Giarai. All three are ethnic minorities with a population of 200-300 people per tribe. These tribes have a uniqueness in the form of traditional house.

Central Highland is located in the border areas of Laos and Cambodia, is in the province of Dak Lak, Gia Lai and Kon Tum. It was a full day trip from Hanoi by car.
Ede Tribe
Traditional house of Ede tribe, are exhibited in the Vietnam Museum of Ethology in Hanoi. This longhouse is part of the museum. Souce Image
Ede tribes have a traditional houses lengthwise. When the female family members to held a wedding ceremony, a room will be added as the bridal chamber. The more family members increases, then their home will be more elongated.
Their house is built in the shape of the stage of wood and bamboo, made a pair of wooden stairs. They distinguish between the ladder for men and for women's ladder. The special feature of the ladder for women, is breast sculpted and crescent at the top of the stairs.

Bahnar and Giarai Tribes
Giarai and Bahnar village has a building named Rong, is a special building like a hall as a community gathering place. The roof is higher when their village status increased.

Giarai tribe has a very unique tomb. They made sculptures carved from wood, then placed around the tomb. Statue with a variety of expressions ranging from pensive, moody, cheerful to erotic.

If you are visiting Hanoi, the Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi provides third imitation traditional house tribal.
