WHY THE WORLD IS NOT AT PEACE

in #life7 years ago

hello steemians this is my first piece of writing .. am a philosopher who writes about odd weird facts that are interesting. i want to share with you about my first piece of writing on the importance of listening.
in my recent class of social work skills this morning, out of the blue i got a gut feeling that pushed me into narrating my own philosophical idea about listening as the most significant thing in life than you possibly knew.!!

I've come to realize that listening starts as early as before we are born.. the most vivid example is when our mothers go to the antenatal care center to check on the resonating beats of their "embryonic babies" by the doctors.. my simple note on this is to share to you my people briefly on how listening is an incredibly amazing basic need that we have disregarded unconsciously and that's why the world is not at peace.
.Its through listening that we learning our mother tongue, identify objects through active listening. say; calling our dad's name comes from some serious attention as we go into robust growth. The child unconsciously creates ideal surface conditions that enhance active listening and over time they will start calling "taata". the title most families conventionally use to identify the big man..who in my own hood we call "muzeeyi" literally meaning the big man or the dad.

In the same way, listening is a bridge to amazing relationships, a family that lacks the basic need of listening in it will certainly be a dynamically noisy one.

Many families are divorcing because they totally abandon and forget to harness their relationship with the LISTENING SKILL. Women in the bible are called to be submissive to their husbands and conversely husbands to love their wives and taking care of them thats a listening command from GOD. Though because of the paradoxical nature of God's word the meaning of submissiveness of women to their husbands was to listen to them, just like it is to the husbands to love their wives and care for them is to listen to their needs and provide for them so as to have a great and a happily fulfilled family..
"A family that lacks listening skills ultimately doesn't heed to God's command, for a family to long live and live happily ever after,it needs to embrace the listening skill as its cornerstone for a successful marriage,

In engagements, it's quite paramount for the couple to make sure that they don't break the chain of listening skill in their minds because it's the galvanizer of the family future, income and heritage in terms of success..,successful marriages tend to always ensure that as soon as they realize that the listening skill is compromised by the devil of ANGER, they bring in the SORRY switch that resuscitates the listening skill and ultimately tensions reduce, stress disappears and a sudden greening smile like the sun set of the ocean brings a peaceful breath into the couple and hence peace and love flourish again..

In the same way, values, norms, traditions of society, are infused into the brain while actively listening in our infancy and i do presume that in societal terms, badly behaved juveniles are as a result of lack of listening skill and otherwardly authoritarian families hugely showcase bragging rights of the listening skill by a lot of patronization by family heads, In such families, parents are decision makers while the children are decision takers. consequently the slow growth of self esteem, self confidence is shattered due to the fact that the parents over control the empathic and reflective, groves that synchronize effective communication..which catalyze the dialogue into an interactive talk. So by this, it will mean that a child has no rights to the questioning, inquisitive, interrogative MIND which is very crucial in human development as its responsible for generating ideas, and improving intelligence quotient what an ordinary person in my hometown calls common sense.

Are we aware that if we destroy the communication arena by intimidating, changing moods, unfriendly looks, authoritative postures we we cause the recipient to switch off the listening mind and leaves it on idle to "hearing MODE," the first phase of listening!!!!!.

look at when we go to have fun, in the discotheque, or our favorite KFC restaurant to chew some chicken wings, a friends and a family day out at the beach or a city festival or even on your match day experience when your local hood team is in action on those lousy Sunday afternoons then music in there on a cool sunny day might drive your mind straight into a vacation of your childhood memories in the 60s,70s,80s,90s,2000s and it can amazingly sparkle your gut feeling into higher intelligence levels and you will feel reborn and hugely energized and so we go out for chilling and relaxing sessions to listen to other people away from home, good music, good comedians who sparkle that inner joy and peace in us.. that's why in my view people who listen to music have a relatively bigger lion's share of the freedom and inner peace with themselves than their counterparts who don't listen to music.

those who don't listen to no one are referred to as sociopaths, they are more likely to fall in anger because they will not have anyone who will wish to speak to them and yet we must all accept that every individual has a unique mind and reality about life.

The role of listening is because of our diversity.. a case scenario for my country Uganda comes in my mind. it's a perfect example to my idea about listening. Uganda is a unique country in its own way.. it has 56 tribes of people and uses English as the official language,

Recent reports suggest that the country has been recognized for its brilliant scientists in different countries. okay's. what does this suppose to mean to you my readers? it means that a multitude of people each of which separated by tribal norms, traditions different realities as unique human beings, but unified by color BLACK.

what has made this country lag behind despite the endowments is that their is a very huge lacking of LISTENING SKILL and this has impeded its development and has seen the rise of tribalism, nepotism, hate and torture because people speak very many languages and yet they listen very less when someone from another tribe talks to them..

this means that if a muganda wanted to talk to a karamojong tribesman about a developmental issue that can cause demographic change in the heavily heated region of the country by glaringly scorching sun rays, the karamojong tribesman might not want to listen to a muganda tribesman because of the sentimental attachment as a result of their strategic inhabitance of the baganda group of people in the country's capital.

And since my junior school, i was hearing of the chants the baganda tribes kids chanted to a last person in class performance that they will not wait for karamojongs to develop. I'm writing as I've noticed that lack of listening skills has caused Uganda to lag backwards because the official English language has not been effective in pulling these diverse people together to swing into unity and develop the country.

The western world has developed and the great eastern comrades such as china, japan, European countries have developed because they use not more than 5 languages in their verbal exchanges.

Uganda therefore lacks a unifying common language that would bring all citizens on the same platform to share developmental ideas so as to launch the country into a middle income status as it wishes to.

For a country to develop , the first catalyst to economic development is the unifying language that enables people to encode and decode messages to each other which saves time in interpretation, comprehension and action which subsequently accelerates rapid action and hence GROWTH.

More to the above, lack of adequate listening skill has been the major cause of global wars on this planet earth.. a war is just like a simple rude and tough bitter verbal explosion between people, friends of people will defend their friends in the face of danger just like countries form alliances,to protect their allies.

Even when were trying to advance human rights as much as we can, deliberate efforts right from school, colleges should be invested in ensuring that we listen to one another and make this world a better place.

In my dream world, i see the whole world at peace and in harmony, no situations like poverty because when we listen, we care, we give, we acquire knowledge and share it, no civil wars, no corruption and no racism God's love for us is immense, a happy and fulfilled life, more wise humans than now, we shall live in harmony with all the animals God gave us to rule over, and then a wonderful world.. because WE BECOME ONE WHEN WE LISTEN TO EACH OTHER.

The lack of listening has caused the status quo to change..everyone is playing a movie of survival. if the world knew how great this idea would be.. i think the world would be a better place to live, because listening comes with love, happiness, empathy, quick time response, incredibly much better life for all mankind.. All teachers, parents, siblings and the world at large, let's embrace the power of listening and then the world will be at peace and in harmony..
