Recent lucid dreaming and the holidays

The past two nights I've had lucid dreams. When I was in high school I had this happen all the time, but nothing since. Actually, I haven't remembered my dreams in years. The last time I had a regular dream life was in early high school. Since my last major surgery, at age 16, I only rarely have dreams that I remember. (I always assumed that dream suppression was part of the healing process, but I don't know for certain.) Even last nights dreams I don't remember; I only clearly remember that just prior to waking I passed through the dream scenes to say goodbye to the characters because it was time for me to leave.

I'm going to see how many more days I can extend this. I think that at this time in my life there are many subconscious discussions that I'd like to have. Irrespective of if I remember them, I assume that there will be some good to come from the dialogues.

Yesterday I signed the final settlement for my divorce. It was a long marriage, over 20 years. I'm not exactly sad to see it end, the past ten years were pretty unpleasant, but I am disappointed in myself for allowing my relationship to drift so badly and for my willingness to live so long with an unhappy marriage. Admittedly, I was going through tenure at the time so my focus was on academic survival and I allowed many aspects of life to crumble. If all goes well I'll have my divorce finalized by the end of this year. (Changes in the tax law makes it imperative that the divorce be finalized by 12/31/2018.)

I pick my daughter up for the holidays on the 19th. I've been trying to make plans for our time together. So far I've gotten tickets to a college basketball game, a production of A Christmas Carol, and have scheduled to a spend day at the Josyln art museum. We only have 7 days, and two of these are lost to holiday activities. I don't want to over book the visit, but I won't see her again until next June or July. Maybe I can find an indoor garden were we can just go walk and look at the plants.
