Misplaced priority or what?

in #life5 years ago

My family and I went for a church program on Friday 6th September 2019, and came back late at about 8 pm. We were at the dinning dealing with my favorite African meal called iyan in Yoruba language (pounded yam) when my phone rang, alas, it was Mrs Adams, a very close relation of mine on the line. Usually I don't pick or answer any call while eating but I picked this particular one based on my instinct. Lo and behold, the woman on the other end, Mrs Adams, notified me that her first daughter, Grace, who is pregnant, is due to be delivered but she was not in town to take her to the hospital, so she informed me to assist her daughter to a named private hospital in their neighborhood where Grace was registered for ante natal care and onward delivery. I immediately informed my wife of the situation on ground. We both stood up from the table and left the children to finish their meal. I picked the car key, my wife joined me in the car and we left for our mission at about 9 pm.
We got to the hospital a few minutes to 10 pm. The doctor examined Grace and referred her to a government specialist hospital. According to the doctor, the cervix of the lady to be delivered is small and being the first delivery, the service of specialists may be needed. Within me, I concluded that they don't have good hands (medical personnel) in their clinic.
We left the clinic for the government hospital and arrived at about quarter past eleven. Grace was received by the nurses on duty and was attended to.
By the grace of God and with the assistance of the medical personnel Grace was delivered of a bouncing baby boy around 6:25 am on Saturday 7th September. Glory be to Jehovah.
On this faithful day, Saturday 7th September 2019, around 4pm, I sat down at the entrance of the baby's ward, I saw one of the birth attendants pushing a wheel chair towards my direction from afar. I noticed that what was on the wheel chair did not resemble a human being so I was curious to know what exactly the thing was. As the attendant pushed the wheel chair closer and closer I begin to see clearly. Behold it was crates of Coca Cola that were on the wheel chair. As she tried to wheel past me I took a snap of the scene with my phone camera.
The question now is.......
Should we call this an act of improvisation or misplaced priority?
As for me, I call it a misplaced priority.
