The saying "It's not what you know. It's who you know" is total bollocks...
"It's not what you know. It's who you know" - even as a little kid I thought this piece of conventional wisdom was a load of bollocks.For example I "know" a guy who has the integrity of a piece of calcified dog crap BUT he knows an absolute ton of people. However he has treated them all so badly and dishonestly that most would not pee on him if he caught on fire.Therefore...
I think a more accurate version of that old saying would be:"It's not who you know. It's who knows YOU and what they THINK of you."
