Any experienced linux users! Please! SOS!!!!

I have tried booting into Kali 4 different ways. I've tried to mount it to a virtual drive, and a flash drive. Both times resulted in nothing, or a continuous script that kept telling me that I had an error. I never made it into the Kali installation at that point.

So I gave up on installing Kali, and decided that if I could get Ubuntu to install, there might be a chance that from there, inside the terminal I could get Kali to install directly onto the Ubuntu OS.

I was wrong again. Now I have followed this guide.

I have gotten all the way to booting my computer into Ubuntu using the USB drive that is plugged in. When the intro screen for Ubuntu appears the options are "Try using Ubuntu without Installing" "Install Ubuntu" ... and a couple others that aren't important here. As soon as I have selected either one of the first two options, my computer displays a green screen with a cursor blinking for about 5 seconds, then it proceeds to shut off my monitor. And sit. Still on, but not displaying anything.

I'm really confused. And it's frustrating that something that is explained in such a straightforward way, on multiple sites has caused me this much strife.

I'm sending out an SOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm running a ASUS Z170 Deluxe Motherboard, with 16 gb of 2666MHz RAM, and a Windows 7 64 bit OS on my main HD. I partitioned the drive I was going to install on. I even backed up my whole computer like I was told.

Maybe... in f6 you can select other options and select all acpi and modeset, try this

the first time in livecd take several minutes to show something, be patient.

pd: its ubuntu, try other gnu/linux os like kaos or trisquel

My immediate reaction to the monitor not displaying anything is that there's a problem with graphics drivers. I don't remember if Ubuntu has a way to try/install with generic graphics drivers, I remember there being some kind of option to do with graphics that I had to select with Chakra (which didn't last a day) and Manjaro (which is what I'm using now) to make the liveusb work so I could actually install it.

Can you get into the Windows install?

When booting from USB, it takes quite a bit before you see anything. How long have you waited.

As to Kali not booting up, can you try again and capture a video of what you see on your screen when Kali tries to boot, and share it here?
