Well, to a very large extent I have had encounters with kids before and I can say how their minds operate because technically have been there before. Punishing a kid won't stop him or her from not doing the same offence the next day because what exactly play in their mind is that Uncle, Aunt, Dad and Mom ain't seeing things the way it is appearing to them. I would suggest a comparison, punishment as a sanction in our society has it been able to deter people from not committing an offence? The answer is NO, because it is like another ground for them to go into the crime since they are aware of the consequences. There is no actions without its consequences.
I would suggest we better replace punishment with a reorientation program where kids can go for proper talk with a coach or their parents.

I got three kids and they are 19, 14 and 7.
Two girls and one boy, what i noticed was that they copy us.
Explaining what to do, is worthless.
It will go one ear in and the other ear out.

Punishing them is useless, they will only learn how to fear something.
And i want to learn them how to deal with fear, not to use it as a weapon.
So i dont see any good point in punishing kids or people eiither.
I was in jail once and they will only be bigger criminals in jail, it's useless.

Most of the guys i jail, had a hard time in youth.
They got punished a lot, and did not learn how to deal with there emotions.
THey only give further what they saw or got, what opened the criminal way.
I saw it with my own life, and i saw it with my kids.

If you saw how my kids are, while i almost never punish them.
What i do is , explain them how there feelings and thoughts work, and how they must meditate and count to 10 when they are in a situation.

And i learn them what mistakes they make and give them a chance to do it again, until they learn how to do it.
I thought it was needed to learn them this all, because our society is punishing them if they make one wrong move.
Thanks for your well explain comment.

You welcome, hope our society catch up with this trend and apply it to our children education at school. My regards to your kids.

Thank you it would sure create some kids, who will grow up without fear for punishment, and more with the knowledge that they can control there own emotions, That should be the whole point of meditate on schools, to use it as a tool,

I fear it would not be better. Maybe when they're riled up or stressed or need a break, it could work wonders, but if you do it like this, kids won't see it as something in lieu of punishment, but just as a different kind of punishment, meaning you run the very likely risk of teaching them that meditation is not something good, but something bad, akin to being hit - after all, it's punishment! You very well may make them hate meditation with this which would be sad. I'm not saying it's necessarily bad and to definitely not do it, but to think carefully about it and draw your own conclusions.

Well meditation is a tool, not a goal on his own.
So the whole point is to make the kids understand how there feelings and emotions worked, and they could use meditation for that.

Just tell them to go meditate is useless if they dont understand what to do with it, or how to use it in there benefit.
Then indeed, they would hate it.
