William Boyd Watterson II (July 5, 1958) is an American cartoonist who is most well known for his comic strip Calvin and Hobbes, which was written and published from 1985 to 1995. At the end of 1995, Watterson stopped drawing Calvin and Hobbes with a short statement explaining that he felt he had achieved all he could with the series.
