Doulatdia hit a dumb trawler with a ferry, and then disappeared
Daulatdia of Goalanda upazila of Rajbari was hit by a ferry near Ferry Ghar of 5 when a fishing trawler sank. The trawlers were missing. This incident happened at around 5:30 am on Monday, when the trawler collided with Shapla-Shaluk utility ferry.
The name of the missing is Farid Hossain (32). He is the son of Shaheed Sheikh of Daulatdia Union's Bahir Char Sattar Member.
Confirming the accident, Bangladesh Internal Shipping Corporation (BIWTC) Daulatdia Ghat Office Manager said. Shafiqul Islam He said that the trawler was fast approaching by the utility ferry on the narrow channel. Suddenly the engine of the trawler collapsed. The accident occurred when the driver of the trailer lost control over the ferry.
According to witnesses, three were in the drowning trawler. Two of them were able to get out of swim water, but there was no trace of Majhi Farid Hossain.
It is known that on Saturday afternoon, the passengers and vehicles from Paturia Ghat were trying to lodge the Daulatdia 5 ferry gate with Shapla-Shaluk ferry narrow channel. During this time, a trawler from the opposite direction was trying to get out of the number 1 Ghat from Channel and went towards the river channel. When the engine suddenly collapsed on the way, the trawler pelted with Shapla-Shaluk ferry.
When the trawler overturned, three drowned in the trawler fell into the water. Though two of them were able to rise above the swim water, the trawler Farid Hossain could not get up.
After getting the news, a team of Goalanda Fire Service Station searched from evening till late night on the spot. In collaboration with the local fishermen, efforts were made to rescue the missing Farid Hossain, who was trapped in the river. However, the rescue was not possible till now.
Goalanda fire service station station officer Abdur Rahman said on Tuesday morning that under his leadership yesterday, the operation was conducted from evening till late night. But no success was found. Will be searched again from today morning. Apart from this, a diver group from Dhaka has been sought. They will actually speed up the rescue work.
