Let's start with some interesting statistics about first impression.Studies have found that non-verbal cues have over four times the impact on the impression you make than anything you say.Then how are first impressions formed?
55 % are determined by your walk,dress and act during the interview.
38% are determined by the level of your confidence,the quality of your voice and grammar.
7% are determined by your choice of words.
First impressions are vital to any first meeting but they are even more important when it comes to work.In a survey of more than 2,000 hiring managers, 33% claimed to know whether or not they would hire someone within 90 seconds!
Whatever the job is you have to be well prepared.4 of the most important and simple tips you need to know:
1.Learn about the organization.
2.Have a specific position in mind that you'd like to fill.
3.Review your qualifications for the job.
4.Be ready to briefly describe related experience.
And here are some tips preparing for the interview itself:
1.Dress professionally and be well-groomed.
2.Prepare your portfolio ahead of time and practice using it.
3.Practice your answers but make sure they don't sound too rehearsed.
4.Bring any materials you think you might need,it's always better to be prepared.
5.Bring a notebook and a pen or pencil so that you can take notes.
6.It's always better to leave earlier in case of traffic or getting lost on the way.
7.Always have a nice and firm handshake.
8.Be friendly,polite and don't forget to smile.
9.Display confidence through body language.
10.Speak loud and clear when you are giving your answers.
