Twitter CEO Predicts Bitcoin As World's Single Currency In 10 Years @senseicat
Jack Dorsey, Twitter CEO and co-founder, proclaims that bitcoin will be the single currency for the entire world in 10 years.
"Bitcoin has rapidly evolved from being an object of fringe interest into a globally traded asset with a derivatives product on the world's largest futures market. The cryptocurrency surged from less than $1,000 at the start of last year to a record above $19,000 in December. Bitcoin was trading just above $9,000 Wednesday morning. Dorsey has become increasingly involved in cryptocurrencies. In late January, Square's mobile payments app Cash began offering bitcoin buying and selling in most states. Dorsey was also part of a $2.5 million seed financing round announced last week in Lightning Labs, a start-up trying to make bitcoin transactions more efficient."
Payment processing needs to ensure that bitcoin becomes adopted into the mainstream and newer technologies will speed up transaction times and become less costly by building off of Blockchain.

Bitcoin as single currency? Hardly so. I would more agree it can became single "unit of account". And also means for store of value. But i can not imagine all of todays altcoins will dissapear. Some of them have such a great features, which will make them to survive.
I share similar thoughts that perhaps there will eventually become one dominant currency, but there will always be room for other alt coins due to various technological improvements.
About time for the lightning labs to get some traffic, but not sure about the single currency, mabye :))
It is a bold prediction and very interesting to see what transpires in our future.

Here are my 2 cents
I think bitcoin is like netscape navigator(the world's first web browser), it took the world by storm but eventually altcoins with significantly better features(real time transaction, less transfer fee etc) will overtake it.
so, thinking bitcoin as only currency is a bit farcry.
i think bitcoin and all the altcoins are the biggest discovery of the XXI century.
