Living On One Dollar @senseicat
I had the opportunity to watch a documentary about a couple of young men who decide to live in Guatemala for 56 days to see if they can live on one dollar a day. It was extremely interesting to see them facing daily challenges to feed themselves and the hard ship in seeking medical care. At one point, one man had an infectious disease and realized he had to forgo medicine because he could not afford it.
The most impressive aspect is that the family that befriended the men, offered to share a special meal and taught them how to utilizes their limited resources more effectively. The sharing and caring was extremely touching and it was obvious the family connection and bond that extended to new inhabitants.
Conversely, the two men taught the Guatemalan children how to speak English and saved just enough to provide a special meal to this family--normally a treat that they would receive a couple of times per year reserved for celebrations.
It is strange to me to see that even in the United States, there are people who can not afford these basic essentials as food, shelter, and medical treatment in a developed nation.

This honestly makes you appreciate everything we have in our lives.No matter how bad things get there is someone always worse of then you.Even here in the UK it is getting ridiculous with the amount of homeless and people going through hardship.The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.I just do not see the logic when the goverments officials are just lining there pockets espec in such a developed country.People dont need hand outs.They need better education, better resources, better housing and job opportunities and this in turn will lead to a better future.I love programmes like these that are so thought provoking and make you be thankful what you have and not what you haven't.
I noticed the same thing here in the United States that there is a vast divide between the rich and poor. The middle class is becoming eradicated. Our world would be a better place if every individual had their basic essential needs met. It is clear that the universe is bountiful and the wealth needs to spread.
Crypto is ideal for poor countries,anyone can make dollar per day and much more with crypto.

We have a thing called the minimum “living wage” here in the U.K. but most here would agree that it’s not enough to live off. There’s been a rise in food banks as well as the need for them. The gap between the wealthy and the poor keeps getting bigger.
I really want to see this documentary now. The world needs more inspirational and eye opening catalysts for change. Thank you for sharing.

This post makes a great point. Humans do much better by sharing resources and knowledge. That I believe is the essence of what it means to be human.
