FREE MONEY FINLAND: Yes, I would love to see universal basic income everywhere!
Intro:
Four months after Finland's social-security institution Kela launched a two-year experiment in basic income, a system of wealth distribution in which people receive a salary just for being alive, some of the 2,000 recipients are already reporting lower levels of stress. The $600 they receive each month might not be much, but it's enough to put some people's anxiety at ease as stated by Marjukka Turunen, head of Kela's legal benefits unit.
- Basic income is window opener
Advocates say the system gives poor people exactly what they lack: cash. It puts money in their pocket to fix a leaky roof, buy a car to get to work, or save up for emergency funds. It's not enough to live on, but it prevents people from slipping through the cracks. People can also think about their investments and fund their dream business or adventure.
- One man's trash is another man's treasure
Basic income is foremost a solution to poverty. Just imaging a worldwide implementation, I'm absolutely sure that if you are hungry, food is your God. Just imagine the potential of worldwide basic income in a fields of security, innovation, creative thinking and cultivation of human rights. Finland is a great example where experimentation and research meet together in order to reduce stress and improve social structure.
- For the end I will quote Bob Marley, One love
No bullet can stop us now, we neither beg nor we won't bow
Neither can be bought nor sold
We all defend the right, Jah-Jah children must unite
'Cause life is worth much more than gold
Have a great day!
