They impersonate a known courier company. One detail reveals them

The fraudsters mastered the impersonation of well-known companies. Sometimes, however, there is one little thing that allows you to recognize the scam. This is the case when criminals impersonate a courier company.

CERT Orange website writes about a new campaign of criminals who impersonate the DHL courier company. The sender of the message is allegedly "DHL Express (USA)" - although the address of the sender is already completely different and the warning light should already come on - and in the content the potential victim is informed about the unpaid invoice.

"How is it? Where are the arrears? "- the scammers expect that the victim will think so and immediately click on the attachment. In this case, just look at the link. Fraudsters refer to ... Dropbox. That is a public cloud. And as you know, no company does.

Fraud is not so overly complicated, but it's a good lesson - it's worth paying attention to even the smallest details. In this way, we will recognize cheaters. And if in doubt, it is best to always contact the company that allegedly contacts us. But let's look for contact details on official websites, not writing to an unreliable sender.
