Psychology of colors - the true power of colors
The most important factor in every design are the colors. Their use and combining highly influence the way people perceive certain object, website, billboard, a box of cereal and basically everything. Even tho unconsciously the colors cause different emotions and feelings within ourselves.
Yellow
Yellow is the color of positivism, happiness and warmth. It attracts people's attention, this is why taxi cars are yellow. It's often perceived as the color of spontaneity.
Blue
Blue is perceived as a color we could trust, a color which is loyal, hopeful and bright. You can often see the blue appearing on products related to water and air or cleaning. Usually, people don't add this color to food logos because it is thought that blue kills the appetite.
Green
Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth, freshness, brightness and health. It is often associated with balance and security. Dark nuances of green are often associated with money, banks and wealth while lighter ones have a calming effect.
Purple
Purple is associated with the royal, luxury, aristocracy and extravagance. It is rarely seen in nature and so for many people it's a symbol of creativity and the mysterious. It is also believed that it kills the feeling of nostalgia.
Red
Red is the color of fire and blood. It symbolizes energy, war, danger, power but also passion, desire and love. Red is an emotional color which is often used to attract client's attention. Also, it is thought that it stimulates appetite.
Orange
Orange is not as saturated as red but it's also an emotional color. It is a symbol of energy and warmth, that's why it often characterizes with fun, sunny days and games like yellow.
