We need your help to pioneer a blockchain model for non-profit organizations
Hi Steemit! About 6 months ago, I started writing about a professional choir I am starting in Dallas, TX. Since then, we were approved as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, had 2 small concerts that generated revenue, and started a financially transparent crowdfunding campaign on the OpenCollective platform. About a week ago, I posted an article talking about the how blockchain will revolutionize the way non-profit organizations function. I am happy to report that we are steadily incorporating blockchain into our everyday business. Check it out here:
Our Plan
This year, the Verdigris Ensemble intends to incorporate blockchain technology into our everyday operations through 3 major ways: accepting bitcoin and the option of payment of our staff through cryptocurrency, using the blockchain platforms such as Ujo music and Aragon, and utilizing platforms such as Open Collective that hope to incorporate blockchain technology soon. We intend to livestream our rehearsals to allow the global to community to be a part of what we're doing. We're also developing a narrative podcast to encourage and inspire other arts organizations to join the blockchain effort.
Our Goal
Our goal is to raise $20,000 by September 1. Unfortunately, we are not eligible for almost all grants and foundations as we need at least 1 year of tax history. This means all of our expenses for this year must be funded by individual contributors. Fortunately, raised roughly $4,000 and will continue to be financially transparent through our OpenCollective platform. Please help us reach our $20,000 goal. Even donating $2/month (which is an option)is a huge help to our organization.
Our Pledge
We pledge to continue developing our blockchain non-profit model and keeping everyone in the loop through Steemit. Our intention is to make Steemit our primary platform by which we keep you updated and in the loop through weekly updates of our progress. We also pledge to introduce and encourage others within the choral music community to join the blockchain.
Anyone that makes a contribution through Steemit will receive a mention on our website and in all of our concert programs
You will also receive a complimentary CD of our music in the Spring of 2018 from our 2017-18 season
If you live in the Dallas, TX area, we are happy to offer you season subscriptions based on our Underwriting Opportunities rewards found on our Support Us page.
When you make a contribution to the Verdigris Ensemble, you are making a contribution to the innovation of blockchain in Music and non-profit organizations. We hope you will consider donating to our cause. If you cannot donate, please help us by resteeming this post. Thanks for checking us out.

Very interesting concept.
I really miss singing in choir, but life is far too busy at the moment.
What do you see as the musical direction for your ensemble?
We are looking to explore the boundaries of the choral medium. What that means is we want to be innovative and progressive about how we present choral music. We're using stage design, lighting, staging, and creative concert programming to create an experience for our listeners that they can connect and relate to. This way, we are also reaching a wider spread of audiences in the United States.
That's exciting, and I hope to hear more good things from you.
Have you thought of doing a 360 degree recording one can experience with a VR headset? I think that could be awesome...would bring back great memories of singing with others.
All the best!! Followed and upvoted you @rushikesh23
