How we were treated in Abkhazia
Every our visit is not complete without a feast, and it is always organized according to local traditions.

On the table, chopped boiled chicken plastered with adzhika, smoked meat, cheese, greens, sauces. Eat with your hands. Pieces of poultry dunk in a spicy cherry-flavored cherry plum sauce - asyzbal. Be sure to serve the table Achashv.

Practically in all families in Abkhazia they make home-made wine, therefore we wash down all this yummy with pink sourish home-made wine, which Alkhas pours all the time into a glass from a large earthenware jug.
Before each drunk glass, the host makes a toast in turns for those present, for those who are no longer with us, for Abkhazia, for the elders, etc. Toasts are simply inexhaustible, but they are pronounced in a clear order.
In addition to wine, a non-alcoholic drink is served without fail, in Alkhas this is an incomparable compote of their feijoa. Cool and refreshing, indispensable on a hot summer day!
Coffee etiquette in Abkhazia
At the end of the feast freshly brewed coffee is served, this is also a whole ritual. The tradition of drinking coffee in Abkhazia deserves special attention. It's not easy to grab a plastic cup on the go and bang a portion of coffee to cheer up, it's much more interesting.
This is just a small example of how the everyday meeting of guests takes place in a hospitable house in Mgudzyrkhve.
