Why I practice Intermittent Fasting
The main reason I follow the intermittent fasting eating approach is because I just feel better!
And now I know what you're thinking ... that's great but what the heck is it?
Intermittent fasting (IF) is a way of eating, an eating pattern if you will. It's not a diet because it doesn't specify WHAT you eat, but rather WHEN you eat.
Basically you have a window of time during your day that you will eat (for example 8 hours) and then the remainder of the hours of the day you do not eat or drink anything that has calories (the remaining 16 hours) and this is the fasting period. I usually break my fast at noon and then do not eat or drink anything caloric after 8PM.
Why would I do such a thing? Well believe it or not there are a LOT of benefits of IF.
Here is a great article that explains the process and the reason for so many benefits better than I ever could so please take a few moments to read if you are interested in knowing more about intermittent fasting.

Benefits I have personally noticed:
Regulated my weight to the point where I don't ever even think about it.
I have a lot more energy. Whereas you may think you wake up feeling depleted from fasting, actually the opposite is true. I wake up with tons more energy!
I don't feel bloated.
I naturally don't eat as much but at the same time I don't deprive myself of anything.
I can think more clearly.
As you can tell, I am an advocate of intermittent fasting. If you are interested in trying it, definitely check with your doctor and read as much as you can about it. There are lots of variations of it and lots of good information out there. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment below and I'll answer to the best of my ability.
Tried it myself and loved it.
All agreed! I love Sundays for this, once I get over the initial hunger around lunch I feel very at ease, and it makes cleaning and organizing for the week a nice activity. I wake up Monday feeling both energized and hungry! Fasting is my favorite natural "reset"
Very good information! I've tried and it's great! :)
I'm an advocate of intermittent fasting too! I tend to be more hungry if I don't fast and then eat SO MUCH throughout the day. Intermittent fasting has helped me maintain a healthy weight as well and I seem more productive and happy. Great article!
