Dash Cam: Building Passing Lanes
The "Thinkware F800" dash cam I just got takes some pretty good video.
We are building two passing lanes thirty miles south of Spokane, WA USA on SR 195.
At the start of this video I am approaching the northern job site. We haul "shot rock" from here to the southern job site approximately 12 miles south.
There we dump over the guard rail where structural fill is needed, then get loaded with non structural fill from a "cut" we take back to the northern site. We travel loaded both directions and thank heaven for the traffic controllers that keep us moving past all the normal traffic.

Well that looks like a really peaceful experience. Clouds everywhere. Blue sky. That land seems to stretch on forever too. It honestly looks like a great place to set up a cabin or something like that.
Too be honest, I hardly thought about the scenery until I watched the dash cam video. When I am driving I have to pay too much attention to the road.
I was struck by the beautiful clouds and fields. Also, this time of year is the prettiest for this area. Soon it will be arid and the color will not be as striking.
I am going to enjoy it while it lasts.
Hey! Neat stuff and a good view from your perspective! In civil engineering?
Had I stayed in college, I would have become a civil engineer. Alas, I became one of the producers rather than a planner.(But I really like actually building stuff!). I have done some minor engineering on smaller projects.
Just like I did with Ponderosa Elementary I will expand on this project. It will last for 2 months.
I wanted to get my feet wet with using dash cam video for posts. I don't have time for much else right now.
At some point the dash cam will capture insane drivers that I can mock.(hopefully not fatally insane).
Thanks for taking a look.
Awesome video my friend! West side of the Coeur D'Alene Reservation?
I was looking at dash cam video on YouTube since you've started showing these. Those Russia dash cams are hilarious! I'm wondering when you're going to get a road rage video???
Awesome countryside!
CARRY ON!
Yes, the reservation stops at the WA/ID border a few miles to the east. This area is known as the Palouse. A LOT of wheat is grown here.
SR 195 connects Spokane(biggest city east of the cascade mountains) and Pullman, home of Washington State University, so this road gets major traffic.
This is a 2 month job, so I will be posting more video and info about it.
And I do expect to get some road rage video, but as I said to zekepickleman, hopefully not fatal.
