Ten Choices or Decisions You'll Remorse in a Decade
One of the most depressing sentences in English is made up of the words "if only." Here are ten choices that ultimately lead to that phrase of regret, and how to elude them on the average day:
Wearing a mask to impress others. – If the face you always show the world is a mask, someday there will be nothing beneath it. Because when you spend too much time concentrating on everyone else’s perception of you, or who everyone else wants you to be, you eventually forget who you really are. So don’t fear the judgments of others; you know in your heart who you are and what’s true to you. You don’t have to be perfect to impress and inspire people. Let them be impressed and inspired by how you deal with your imperfections.
Allowing someone else to fulfil your aspirations. Finding your identity is the biggest obstacle you'll face in life, and being content with who you are comes in second. Your choice to remain true to your own objectives and ambitions has a significant impact on this. Do you have dissenters in your life? Good. It indicates that you are taking a position and following your own course. Sometimes you'll do things that many might consider insane, but you'll know you're on the right track when you catch yourself becoming so enthusiastic that you lose count of time.
keeping unfavourable company.
Don't accept it from someone who has a negative attitude. Keep them from getting to you. If you don't give them the ammunition, they won't be able to shoot themselves in the head. You may choose to surround yourself with compassion instead of wrath, generosity instead of greed, and patience instead of worry when you realise that maintaining company with negative individuals all the time is a choice rather than a need.
being arrogant and self-centered. The finest memorial is an existence marked by acts of love and virtue. Long after you are gone, those who you touched with your love and inspiration will remember how you made them feel. Create your name on hearts rather than on stones. What you have accomplished for the world and for others stays; what you have accomplished for yourself alone perishes with you.
Avoiding development and change. - Examine your current circumstances if you wish to learn more about your history. Look at your present behaviour if you wish to predict the future. To create room for the new, you must let go of the old. The old way has passed away and will never return. You will set yourself up for long-term success if you recognise this as it is right now and take action to correct it.
Giving up when things are difficult.
Only outcomes are considered failures. Don't get discouraged or quit up if events don't turn out the way you had hoped. Learn what you can, then continue. The person who keeps moving forward a single step at a time will ultimately triumph. Considering that the struggle is always won a long way from where the triumph ultimately occurs. It's a process that involves tiny decisions, acts, and steps that add up over time to finally result in that magnificent moment of victory.
Attempting to micromanage each and every detail. Touching life is better than suffocating it. Sometimes it's necessary to unwind and let life unfold without constant stress and control. Instead of squeezing too hard, learn to let go a little. Draw a long breath. Take the next move only after everything has settled and you can see the forest for the trees once more. You won't need to know your particular destination in order to travel somewhere wonderful. Whether or not you currently realise it, everything in life is perfectly in order. Simply put, it takes time to link everything together.
Settling for something that you don't deserve.
Be able to let go and wait patiently for what you deserve. Sometimes it takes being knocked lower than you've ever been to rise higher than you've ever been. Tears are sometimes necessary to clean your eyes so you can once again see the opportunities in front of you clearly. Don't give in.
Perpetually anticipating tomorrow.
You always assume you have more time than you actually do, which is the problem. However, you won't have time to work on the things you've always wanted to do when you get up one day.And by that time, you will either have fulfilled the objectives you set for yourself or have a long list of justifications for why you haven't.
Slacking off and being vague.
You owe the world something; it is not something that the world owes you. Stop daydreaming and start acting instead. Build a backbone, not a wishbone, as they say. Accept full responsibility for your life and be in charge of your next move. You have value and are required. It's too late to wait around for action to be taken someday. Today is that someday; YOU are the someone the world needs.
