The Down Side of Growing Up

in #life2 years ago

Kids these days have a lot to deal with. Social media, digital pressures, and parenting pampering are all part of their world.

But is it making them grow up too fast? Several experts think so.

One of the most important things a child must learn is responsibility. It doesn’t happen overnight or when they hit a certain age, but it gradually builds up as a child grows and develops.

Getting into school, taking care of your personal belongings, managing a home life and learning how to earn money all require some level of responsibility. The more a child is able to take responsibility for their own actions, the more successful they’ll be in all of these areas.

But while growing up can be a difficult time, it’s not impossible. Instead of focusing on the negative aspects, try to look at the good sides. For example, many people find that they are more happy when they make their own decisions and have a better understanding of what makes them happy. In fact, the more an individual understands what they want in life, the more likely they are to be able to achieve their goals.

You may not have had much control over your life when you were a kid, but now that you’re an adult (or a parent), you get to make all the big decisions. Whether you’re running a business or managing a household, making decisions is a vital component of any healthy and happy life. You get to decide where you shop for the best prices on a given item, which restaurants serve the best burgers and who you choose to go out with on a Friday night. The most important part is making the right choices and sticking with them. That will lead to an enjoyable and successful adulthood.

In short, it’s a way to cope with a painful breakup, explains Justin Lehmiller, PhD, a social psychologist and research fellow at The Kinsey Institute. Often, rebound relationships are about a person trying to meet their needs at the expense of the other person in the relationship, he tells Healthline.

But he notes that rebounding isn’t always a bad thing. For example, if a new relationship is truly about a person’s growth, then it can actually be a healing experience.

Moreover, rebounding can be a great way to try out new things with someone you might not otherwise get to do. And if a rebound relationship is transparent and honest, it can help you build a long-term connection.

But if your new rebound isn’t helping you with your growth, it might be time to step away from them. It’s normal to feel rejected and unseen in a new relationship, and it’s important to take some time for yourself to introspect before jumping into another one.

It’s no secret that your parents have to put up with a fair amount of crap from you and your siblings. You also have to pay the bills which isn’t always a fun proposition. Aside from the usual suspects, there is a wide array of potential pitfalls and it is at this point that the realisation that you can make the decision to forgo the menial duties of your parental units for a few nifty thugs is going to set the tone. Besides, if you can get past the poop emojis, you’ll find that a whole new world awaits you.
